Supporting young minds in the community

Academic, sporting and community environments can be incredible, but coaches and educational professionals simply cannot do it all. The Nurture Meadow works alongside a variety of schools, sports academies and Local Authorities, to help bring mental health and wellbeing to life in engaging, empowering ways, whilst supporting children to alleviate overwhelm and build coping strategies.

Emotional education wellbeing workshops

Papers with handwritten words describing emotions, a small branch, and a basket made of green leaves on a wooden surface.

The Nurture Meadow creates and delivers workshops that are designed with children in mind and are set up for optimal learning for those between the ages of 4 and 16.

Workshops are inclusive, interactive, playful and creative, ensuring that young minds are introduced to the science behind emotions and big feelings, before being encouraged to explore coping strategies. This builds their ability to move from emotional awareness to emotional regulation.

Workshop themes vary depending on the needs of those attending and the challenges identified, but popular topics include:

  • An introduction to mental health and positive wellbeing

  • Managing worries

  • Building a positive mindset

  • Preparing for the secondary school transition

  • Building resilience

  • Enhancing self-esteem

  • Navigating anger and frustration

  • Managing pressure in high performance environments

  • An introduction to yoga and mindfulness.

Workshop sessions can be flexible in format and delivered in a variety of settings for between 8 and 40 participants. Session length varies between 30 and 90 minutes, depending on the objectives and age of the children and their needs.

All workshops include educational information, a chance to get creative or discuss and explore the topic, a Q&A, and a PDF follow up.

Every child benefits from wellbeing workshops, so if you are interested in supporting young minds in your setting, please enquire here and I’ll be in touch to explore how we can work together.

If your staff are overstretched but you have children in need of regular support, The Nurture Meadow can operate as an extension of your core team, providing regular, fun and engaging sessions within your setting, in a flexible format, either as one-to-ones or in small groups.

To discuss the needs of the children around you, leave your details and I’ll be in touch soon.

Yoga and Mindfulness classes

Scientific evidence continues to grow to support the idea that by practising movement and mindfulness, children positively alter the way in which their brain develops, whilst also reaping the benefits in their physical body.

Movement and mindfulness are slowly being introduced in schools throughout the UK and are helping to combat the alarming growth of mental and emotional health issues the younger generation experience, by providing gentle, yet powerful, early intervention.

The Nurture Meadow is passionate about delivering unique, playful, science based, trauma-informed yoga, in a way that is accessible, adapting to your setting and the needs of the children you work alongside.

Through Yoga and Mindfulness, children and young people;
