Summer Workshop - Making friends with BIG feelings

  • The Nurture Meadow Ltd 1 Aviary Way CRAWLEY DOWN United Kingdom (map)

Summer is here and it's time to celebrate the (hopefully) warm sunshine while considering how to bring sunshine into our minds, even on the more gloomy days!

Big feelings can feel overwhelming for young minds. This session will provide a safe space for young minds to play and create, while exploring ways to befriend big emotions such as anger and worry and will give insights into coping strategies.

With nature in full bloom, Summer brings with it an opportunity to notice the wonders in the world around us. With vibrant colours, patterns and textures, longer days and thriving wildlife, there is much to see. The children will be able to make the most of nature's offerings as they delve into exploring self-care in a fun and playful way.

This Workshop will include;

  • Saying hello to Summer and a summertime ritual

  • A hello to their brain and core emotions, and fun engaging activities to support them in working with emotions, rather than against them

  • The opportunity to participate in Summer craft with materials such as dried flowers, fresh foliage, leaves, paints and pens

  • Time to check in with their body with a fun, playful yoga flow

  • A mindful story and meditation.

Children are always encouraged to look after their physical body, which is of course important, but this workshop is designed to support children in taking care of those sometimes overwhelming emotions. And, with 1 in 6 children now having mental health challenges, there has never been a better time to encourage children to be open minded when it comes to their emotional education and ways to support their development.

Suitable for children aged 5-11. Includes a drink and snack and all creative materials. Children will also recieve a goodie bag and certificate

This session is SEND inclusive.

This session is for children only and groups are purposefully kept small.

Parents can drop off and then collect children at pick up time.
